About ING statements
ING Betaalrekening statements (Dutch current-account statements) are downloaded as PDFs from Mijn ING — the ING online-banking portal — or from the ING mobile app under 'Afschriften'. Depending on the customer's language setting the document is rendered in Dutch or English, but the underlying layout is identical; the file is identified at the top by 'ING Bank N.V.' and either 'Betaalrekening' or 'Bank Statement'.
The account is identified by a Dutch IBAN with the 'INGB' bank code, for example 'NL91 INGB 0001 2345 67'. The statement period is given as 'Periode: 01/01/2026 - 31/01/2026' with DD/MM/YYYY dates separated by slashes. Opening balance is labelled either 'Beginsaldo EUR X.XXX,XX' or 'Opening Balance EUR X.XXX,XX', and closing balance is 'Eindsaldo EUR X.XXX,XX' or 'Closing Balance EUR X.XXX,XX', depending on language.
Transaction rows carry Datum, Omschrijving and two EUR figures — the unsigned amount and the new Saldo, both with the literal 'EUR' suffix. Numbers use the European 1.234,56 convention, opposite to UK and US statements. The Omschrijving block often spans several visual lines (counterparty name, counterparty IBAN, mandate or iDEAL reference, free text), which ConvertStatement flattens into a single Description and then signs correctly by reconstructing debit versus credit from the running balance within a 0.01 tolerance.

ING statement format at a glance
ING Betaalrekening (current-account) statements are issued by ING Bank N.V. in either Dutch or English and are denominated in EUR. Dates use the format DD/MM/YYYY with slashes — for example '03/01/2026' — and the period header reads 'Periode: 01/01/2026 - 31/01/2026'. Numbers follow the European convention 1.234,56, where the comma is the decimal separator and the dot is the thousands separator, so an amount like '3.850,00 EUR' means three thousand eight hundred fifty euros exactly. Each transaction line carries two EUR figures: the unsigned amount and the running balance, both suffixed with 'EUR'. Opening balance is labelled either 'Beginsaldo EUR X.XXX,XX' (Dutch) or 'Opening Balance EUR X.XXX,XX' (English); closing balance uses 'Eindsaldo' or 'Closing Balance'. The account appears as a Dutch IBAN like NL91 INGB 0001 2345 67, which ConvertStatement masks before exporting to CSV, Excel, OFX or QBO.

Known ING parsing quirks
These are real layout details that make ING PDFs different from other banks. Our dedicated parser handles each one explicitly so the exported CSV, Excel, OFX, or QBO is always correctly signed and dated.
- Statements are bilingual: Dutch labels such as 'Betaalrekening' (current account), 'Beginsaldo' (opening balance), 'Eindsaldo' (closing balance) and 'Periode' (period) co-exist with English equivalents depending on the customer's language setting
- Period header uses 'Periode: DD/MM/YYYY - DD/MM/YYYY' with DD/MM/YYYY dates — slash-separated, unlike Deutsche Bank's dot-separated DD.MM.YYYY
- Numbers follow the European 1.234,56 convention (comma-decimal, dot-thousands), so '3.850,00 EUR' means 3,850.00 euros — easy to misread as 3.85 if treated as US format
- Detection is deliberately strict: the parser requires either the IBAN substring 'INGB' or the standalone word 'ING' (uppercase with word boundaries) plus a banking keyword, to avoid false positives on 'banking', 'opening' or 'closing'
- Accounts are identified by a Dutch IBAN such as 'NL91 INGB 0001 2345 67' — the 'INGB' bank code is itself a strong detection signal, and the IBAN is masked before export
Description prefixes the ING parser recognises
BetaalrekeningSEPA OverboekingSEPA IncassoiDEALBankoverschrijvingPinbetalingPeriodieke overboekingTegenrekeningNaamOmschrijvingKenmerkMulti-line handling: Each transaction is reduced to one line. ING's PDF often emits multi-line Omschrijving blocks (counterparty name, counterparty IBAN, mandate reference, free text), which are flattened into the single Description capture before parsing.

Frequently asked questions about ING statement conversion
How do I download my ING bank statement as a PDF?
Log in to Mijn ING (my.ing.nl), go to your betaalrekening (current account), select 'Afschriften' (Statements), choose the period, and download as PDF.
Does ConvertStatement handle ING EUR comma-decimal amounts?
Yes. ING statements use European number formatting where commas are decimal separators and dots are thousands separators (e.g., 1.250,00 = 1250.00). Our parser handles this correctly.
Are ING statements in Dutch supported?
Yes. ConvertStatement supports ING statements in both Dutch (Betaalrekening, Beginsaldo, Eindsaldo) and English. The parser detects the language automatically.
Is my ING statement data safe?
Yes. ConvertStatement processes files entirely in memory. No bank data is stored, logged, or shared. All transfers use HTTPS encryption. Your data is deleted from memory as soon as processing completes.
How much does it cost to convert a ING statement?
ConvertStatement offers 3 free conversions per month (CSV format). Paid plans start at $9/month for 200 pages with all export formats including Excel, OFX, and QBO.
