About PNC statements
PNC Bank statements are available through PNC Online Banking at pnc.com and the PNC Mobile app. After signing in, open the account, click the Statements tab, choose the statement period, and download the PDF. PNC keeps roughly seven years of statements online for personal checking, savings, and Virtual Wallet accounts; Virtual Wallet customers receive a single consolidated statement covering the Spend, Reserve, and Growth sub-accounts.
The statement PDF opens with the 'PNC Bank, National Association' header, the masked account number (e.g. Account Number: ****3456), and the statement period written as 'January 1, 2026 to January 31, 2026'. A summary block shows the Beginning Balance and Ending Balance, followed by the transaction register: one line per transaction with MM/DD date, description, signed amount, and running balance. Virtual Wallet PDFs add per-sub-account section headers but keep the same transaction line format.
Because the transaction date omits the year, ConvertStatement's PNC parser pulls the year from the statement-period header and stamps it on every row. Negative amounts (debits) and positive amounts (credits) are preserved as a single signed column, which maps cleanly to OFX, QBO, CSV, or Excel for import into QuickBooks, Xero, or Wave.

PNC statement format at a glance
PNC Bank (PNC Bank, National Association) issues checking and Virtual Wallet statements as PDFs with one transaction per line. Each line contains a date in MM/DD format, a free-form description, an amount, and a running balance, all in US dollars using comma thousands separators and a dot decimal (1,234.56). The header reads 'PNC Bank' or 'PNC Bank, National Association', and the statement period appears as 'Statement Period: January 1, 2026 to January 31, 2026' — note the word 'to', not 'through'. PNC's Virtual Wallet product groups Spend, Reserve, and Growth sub-accounts, all of which use this same transaction layout. Debits are shown as negative amounts with a leading minus sign (for example -$120.00), credits as positive, and there are no separate debits/credits columns. The opening figure is labeled 'Beginning Balance' and the closing figure 'Ending Balance', with account numbers masked to the last four digits (e.g. ****3456). ConvertStatement exports PNC PDFs directly to CSV, Excel, OFX, or QBO.

Known PNC parsing quirks
These are real layout details that make PNC PDFs different from other banks. Our dedicated parser handles each one explicitly so the exported CSV, Excel, OFX, or QBO is always correctly signed and dated.
- PNC's flagship product 'Virtual Wallet' (Spend, Reserve, Growth sub-accounts) is detected as a banking-context keyword alongside 'account', 'statement', and 'national association'
- Statement period uses 'to' between dates (e.g. 'January 1, 2026 to January 31, 2026') unlike U.S. Bank and TD Bank which use 'through'
- Transactions use MM/DD without the year; parser infers year from statement period text
- Debits are negative with a leading minus and credits are positive — single signed Amount column, no separate Deposits/Withdrawals columns
- Account number is masked to the last four digits after 'Account Number:' (e.g. ****3456)
Multi-line handling: Each transaction is expected on a single line; multi-line descriptions are not joined and unmatched lines are silently skipped.
