About N26 statements
OFX (Open Financial Exchange) is an XML-based format designed specifically for exchanging financial data between institutions and personal finance software. Originally developed by Microsoft, Intuit, and CheckFree, OFX is the standard import format for Quicken, Mint, and many other financial management applications. N26 PDF statements list transactions with Date, Description, Amount, and Balance columns. Despite being a European neobank, N26 uses dot-decimal notation for amounts. Statements are available in English and German, and our parser supports both.

The account currency, EUR, is written into the OFX CURDEF tag. Because the account is in EUR, not USD, the file header declares UTF-8 so accents and umlauts in descriptions survive. Each transaction's <NAME> field is cut to 32 characters.

- Currency is written as the literal string 'EUR' twice per transaction (once before the amount, once before the balance) rather than the € symbol
- Account number is a German IBAN starting with 'DE' followed by 20 digits, extracted and masked
