How to Convert an N26 Bank Statement PDF to CSV

Convert N26 neobank statement PDFs to CSV, Excel, OFX, or QBO. Supports both English and German statements with EUR transactions.

N26: Europe's digital bank, same PDF limitation

N26 is a leading European neobank with over 8 million customers across 24 markets. It's a digital-first bank — no branches, everything through the app. But when you need an official statement for tax filing, visa applications, or accountant deliverables, N26 gives you a PDF.

N26 does offer in-app CSV export for quick transaction lists, but the official PDF statement is a different document. It includes account details, opening/closing balances, and a formal transaction record. For anything official, you need the PDF statement — and then you need to get data out of it.

Download your N26 statement

In the N26 app, go to your account and tap "Statements" in the menu. Select the month and download the PDF. You can also download from the N26 web app at app.n26.com under Account > Statements.

N26 generates statements in the language of your account settings. If your account is set to German, the statement uses German headers (Kontoauszug, Kontobewegungen). If set to English, you get English headers (Account Statement, Transactions). ConvertStatement handles both languages.

Convert your N26 statement

Upload the N26 PDF at convertstatement.com. The parser identifies N26 from the statement header and extracts transactions with the correct EUR amounts.

N26 statements use DD/MM/YYYY dates and dot-decimal notation for amounts (unlike some European banks that use comma decimals). This means amounts display as 1,234.56 in the PDF, which the parser reads directly.

After preview verification, download as CSV, Excel, OFX, or QBO. The EUR currency code is set automatically in OFX and QBO exports, so your accounting software categorizes them correctly.

English and German statement support

N26 is popular across Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, and other EU markets. The statement language depends on your account settings.

English statements use headers like "Account Statement," "Date," "Description," "Amount," and "Balance."

German statements use "Kontoauszug," "Datum," "Beschreibung," "Betrag," and "Saldo."

ConvertStatement's N26 parser detects the language from the statement header and applies the correct field mapping. Both produce the same clean export with standardized column names (Date, Description, Amount, Balance) in the output file.

Use cases for N26 exports

Freelancers in Germany: Convert monthly N26 statements to Excel, categorize expenses by tax-deductible categories (Betriebsausgaben), and share with your Steuerberater (tax advisor).

Expats and digital nomads: N26 is popular among people living abroad. Convert statements to CSV for personal finance tracking across multiple countries and currencies.

Small business owners: If you use N26 Business, convert statements to QBO for QuickBooks import. Categorize business expenses and prepare quarterly VAT returns.

Visa applications: Some embassies accept bank statements as proof of funds. While you'll submit the original PDF, converting to Excel first lets you verify the totals and identify any transactions you might need to explain.

N26 conversion questions

Does this work with N26 Business accounts? Yes. N26 Business and N26 Standard statements follow the same format.

What about N26 Metal or N26 Smart? All N26 account tiers use the same statement format. Metal, Smart, and Standard statements all convert the same way.

Is N26 different from traditional German banks? Yes. N26 uses English-style number formatting (dot decimal: 1,234.56) rather than German-style (comma decimal: 1.234,56). This is a neobank pattern — Revolut does the same thing. Our parser is aware of this difference.

Why can't I just use N26's built-in CSV export? You can, for informal purposes. But the PDF statement is the official document — it includes the bank's name, your account details, and opening/closing balances. For accountants, tax authorities, or any formal process, the PDF statement is what's required.
